INJECTING MASCULINITY FOR BALANCE

By
Home Stager with Salazar Staging & Custom Interiors

It is easy to get too feminine when staging master bedrooms.  We stagers need to keep our male buyers in mind as well when we get into designing this space that can easily lend itself to a feminine feel.  There are many ways to balance out that girly girl feeling.  In this bedroom, I initially hung white  and aqua curtains.  I also did not have the brown rug down.  The room just felt and looked way too girly so I traded out the curtains for the ones you see in black and brown.  Adding the brown and black touches with pillows/rug and window treatments, just calmed down the  female influence.  I asked several men if this room was too  feminine for their taste (including the builder) and was pleased that they didn't feel it was.  Do any of you run into this and if so, how do you introduce the masculine touches into the room?  MASTER BEDROOM STAGING

Aloha Melody,

Handsome room. The only thing that might make it more masculine is adding a geometric patterned bed spread with the same colors but I think it's perfect as is.

Peace,

This Is Gorgeous! I'm not a big fan of girly-master suites, if a home ia a man's castle he should not stick out like a sore thumb in it, right?

Adding black brings in a sophistication to the room!  I personally prefer a room with more masculine lines.  To tone down the femaninity of the room, I usually use decor with clean lines.
