This week’s ActiveRain Zoom homework was simple on the surface:
Create a Zoom background that represents your personality.
Easy assignment, right? Except when you stop and think about it, personality is not just one thing. It’s a collection of experiences, habits, values, and quirks.
The Feature image is a slightly edited version of the original (below with the VW van). The original image (below) was created from what ChatGPT knows about me, based on what is out there on the worldwide web.
And honestly? I think it pretty much nailed it... with a few exceptions.
The only things it didn't get right were that I don't travel in a VW van. I have a 2019 AWD Ford Taurus. And I don't play the guitar, although I wish I could. So, I asked ChatGPT to replace the van with my actual car (an AWD 2019 blue For Taurus), and to replace the guitars with golf clubs. Voila! I provided an actual picture of my car so it knew exactly what to insert. The feature image is the result.
The bright colors, the playful signs, the rainbow, and the fun details reflect another part of my personality. I take my work seriously, but I don’t take myself too seriously.
I like learning, experimenting, and trying new things. I enjoy technology, creativity, and figuring out how tools can make life easier or more fun. That’s true whether I’m writing, golfing, attending a Zoom call, or creating images like these.
The background feels optimistic, lighthearted, and inviting. That’s exactly how I want people to think of me.

I love conversations, learning from others, and connecting with community. ActiveRain has been a big part of that for me, and Zoom has become one of the ways we stay connected, share ideas, and encourage one another.
This image doesn’t just sit behind me. It tells a story before I ever say a word.
It says:

So, this image represents my personality. Not because I picked random elements, but because it was created by pulling together the themes that already show up in my writing and everyday life.
