Lew Corcoran and Patricia Feager issued an "Aha" challenge for December 2025. As if it caught me by surprise I drew a big blank and the blank remained with me for some time. It is almost the end of the monty and still nothing until this morning. Welcome to Wayne's world.

It was my senior year in college at the beginning of the second semester. My counselor had informed me that I did not have enough electives to graduate but had too many biology and chemistry classes. So for my final semester I loaded on available electives and they were few. One was a second semester business class as a first semester follow-up. I think I was allowed in out of pity. Five days into the class I had not taken the cellophane off the book. Pop quiz day. Whopee. 5 minute reprieve to review your notes.
That previous summer I had taken an Evelyn Woods speed reading course. Thank goodness. The sound of me ripping off the cellphone filled the room and brought a look on the face of the professor I will never forget.
We take the quiz and many are moaning. The professor was disgusted and dismissed the class for the day.
Next session he passes back the quizzes. I aced it. More luck than anything else but the important thing was I passed. After class she of us went to the student union for coffee and were discussing what we would do after college. Everyone talked about going in one direction or another. They asked why I would go to medical school and spend another eight years in school.
The light went on. I was not the right guy for medical school. AHA! I won't go. What am I going to do. I did not know. Graduated from college, got married and worked as a brake and front end mechanic. That was not the end but it took a few months before I had my next aha moment.
Entry one in the books!
