Many years ago shortly after beginning my Real Estate career Rain Silverhawk came to me and said that I needed to start blogging and pick up exposure on the internet. A good place to do so was 'Active Rain'. I had just met 'Rain' so did not know her for the kind, generous, giving person she was, and still remains, as any of you have read her blogs or spoke with her know Rain to be.
LOL, being the cynical look something over twice type I am, and never wanting to be taken advantage of type guy, I thought she very foolish to think I was going to be spending time learning to blog, spend the time to blog all to her benefit on a program of hers named 'Active RAIN'. So this milestone could have been reached much sooner. Oh well, thank goodness she was persistent over the years. lmao
Move the clock up to 2025. In January I realized I was nearing 1,000,000 AR points. As tempting as it was to go crazy, with posts and points, I thought it better to maintain what I was doing consistently and I would reach 1,000,000 late December.
Saturday December 20th I was about 350 points away from the 1 million. I thought it would be nice to come in for my Simply Sunday post to announce my milestone after making a few comments to push it over. Much to my surprise my friends and family in Active Rain had pushed hard to extend me beyond the 1,000,000 points.
Patricia Feager brought it to peoples attention a few weeks ago, and many over the past month have made extra efforts to help me. Michael Jacobs and Will Hamm did quite a few reposts extending back to my early posts. I found them quite interesting to read a decade later.
And as Michael Jacobs said to me there really is only 'ONE' milestone that counts, 500,000. While true, the One Million is what I set for myself and I know the time, effort, and consistency needed to make it.
My biggest surprise. Active Rain has not provided direct business and yet I have stayed due to the many warm and caring people found in the Rain. The learning available. I mentioned but a few names above but please do know the list is far too long to mention all, but none mean any less than the other.
Thank you Active Rain for being yet another surprise found with my Real Estate career that was never expected nor actually looked for. Mark
