I vaguely remember being totally fixed on a Christmas present when I was a kid although there probably have been several times. That gift was a Daisy BB gun.
I wasn't seeing BB guns everywhere and I especially didn't have hallucinations that I was talking to a BB gun.
My Mom and Dad came through BIG time with one of the top models. I loved that BB gun but one day I loaned it to a friend who was too cheap to buy BB's so he filled it with lead shot and it plugged the barrel beyond repair.
Few gifts last a long long time but God gave us a gift that will bless us into eternity. That is if we accept His gift. Gifts are not earned but we need to accept them to own them.
There is NOTHING we can do to "earn" our way into heaven. God has given us a saviour. That is God's gift to mankind. ANYONE can accept the gift, even a thief dying on a cross who moments before did not know Jesus. The thief was saved because his eyes were opened moments before he died.
As I said before, most gifts don't last BUT God's gift to us is eternal.
