Friday Flags: The Prospect CT Post Office Waving Hard

Driving through town on my way in Waterbury I always pass the post office. This particular day the flags were really waving hard. I don't know if it was more than the wind, or just the wind gods giving me the shot I needed for the week.

The flag was just raised to full mast as the state was honoring the 25th anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shooting.

The second flag is for MIA's and POW's that was initiated in the 70's, many of them lost never to be returned.

It is a proud flag and in the midst of the Holiday season, most appropriate as well.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 - I will never forget that sad day at Sandy Hook School. It happened on my daughter's birthday. That tragedy left permanent scars in Connecticut, especially the families from the school shooting.

Wow, the Sandy Hook devastation was 25 years ago; it seems that it wasn't that long ago.  What a truly sad event, and even sadder that it continued to happen in other parts of the country thereafter.

HI Ed- I thought of you today as we drove along with the top down. I looked up and it was as if the Flag was slowly waving at me. I wanted to grab a shot of it to show you but my lead foot driver suddenly speeded up.
