Wow! In 2 days January 1, 2026 becomes reality. Our current year 2025 is still filled with our daily change struggles. These changes can be insignificant such as what do I wear to a New Year's Eve gathering to very significant such as what are my professional and personal goals for 2026?
Our seconds change into minutes; the minutes click into hours; hours turn into days; days become months and another year passes us by.
Marcus Aurelius wrote:
"The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.”
Possibly Aurelius read the works of Heraclitus who said:
“There is nothing permanent except change.”
How we deal with our daily change struggle is with our thoughts. We can ignore it, not a good thing. Then we can fight it, again probably not the best way to deal with change. Maybe the best way is to recognize change.
Of course, it makes sense to:
- Assess the change
- Clarify the change respective to the impact on our personal and professional lives
- Execute what we need to do to secure the desired results from this change event.
When we ACE change or any other aspect of our live that may interfere with our progress, we are ahead of the change flow.
Wayne Dyer recognized one way to deal with change in these words:
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Here are a few more quotes about change:
“Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change.”
Confucius
“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”
Leo Tolstoy
“Change your opinions, keep to your principles; change your leaves, keep intact your roots.”
Victor Hugo
