Lake Harbor Park is a 189-acre waterfront park offering a rare combination of Lake Michigan beach, wooded dunes, inland lakes, and well-maintained trails.
🕰️ Park History
1980: City acquired the former Swett property
1982: Lake Harbor Bridge, roadway, and paved parking improved access
1994: Expansion with CWC sand mining property and Mona Shores school property
2000: Addition of Whitey’s Woods (10 acres)
Today: 189 acres of protected public land

🌲 Whitey’s Woods
A forested dune area with trails winding through hemlock, white pine, and beech trees. The land was once owned by Ralph “Whitey” Edlund, who welcomed the community to explore and learn from nature. Preserved in 2000 for future generations.
