Journaling for January 2026
January kicked off the new year on January 1 when Sirius reached its highest point in the sky. In Dallas - Fort Worth, the night sky had its own midnight magic with Sirius, the brightest star visible from Earth. We had clear skies. Jupiter could be seen, the nearly full moon, and Orion's three-dot belt. It was a heavenly sky!
The only thing the sky was missing were shooting stars. But today is another day and there should be another great opportunity to see meteor showers tonight, on January 2 and January 3. The first full moon, the Wolf Supermoon is scheduled to peak, in DFW on Friday, through very early Saturday morning.
If I were an Architect, I would build houses with a ceiling that opens up with the press of a button or a technology command for homeowners to watch the sky in the privacy of their own home.
Can you imagine seeing the stars, the Milky Way, shooting stars, meteor showers or the full moon with your head on your pillow? I would also like to have technology in the privacy of my home that played planetary space music, through the walls soothing to my ears. Seeing the panoramic sky from within the walls of my home would be the best ways to experience the constellations.
