Even homeowners without children in the local public school system care about how their schools are ranked. They know that school rankings will affect the value of their homes at resale and will attract buyers who care about education. For people with children, the quality of the local schools is one of the most important factors in choosing a neighborhood to search for their new home.
The most recent annual school rankings for Maryland - and Montgomery County - have been released by US News and World Report. There are many good schools in Montgomery County and they often trade places with one another in the school rankings from one year to the next. Still, it is informative and interesting to see where "your" school ranks on the list.
