Motivational Monday…The Right Kind of No
Has someone ever told you they would do something and then backed out…didn’t show up…or complained to everyone about doing it?
The right kind of no is better than the wrong kind of yes.

We’ve all experienced vendors who’ve assured us they could do the job. You’re on the schedule. No problem.
And then….
Oops…Can’t make it. They were too booked and ran late.
That was the WRONG kind of “yes.”
So what would the RIGHT kind of “no” have been?
We would love to help, but we’re booked until next week. If you can wait, we can be there.

Salespeople want to please their customers. There is a fear in saying no. However, when you are honest in your no, you’re showing respect for yourself and the other person. For example, you might say, “I can’t do it the way you’re asking, but we could try this.”
The wrong kind of yes is temporary at best. Saying the right kind of 'no' lends value to your character.
