On Monday, January 5th I noticed positive change in Irving, Texas. I stopped to purchase gasoline. The price was the lowest I've seen in years!  I felt joy. The price: $2.12 per gallon - Tah Dah!

On Sunday, January 4th I observed family unity at church. There were so many pregnant women and families with growing children. I enjoyed watching the interactions between the fathers and their little ones. The children were between the ages from newborns to about six years old. I felt energized watching kids learning to crawl, and learning to walk, on the floor, in between their father's legs and under their mother's skirts. Every now and then a child sneaked out of the pews and got as far as the alter before being pulled back by their dad. Maybe we have reached a "Turning Point." Tah Dah!

it just needs to be united." ---Anonymous

Saturday evening, January 3rd. It was about 6:15 p.m. when I headed home. I needed just a few groceries, so I pulled into the Tom Thumb Grocery Store. And lo, and behold, I saw the full moon, so big, so brilliant. It reminded me of that amazing scene from the Wizard of Oz when the giant bubble came out of the sky and touched ground. The moon was so low to earth, I was completely in awe!  I wasn't looking up at the moon - it was directly in front of me! Tah Dah!

Inside a grocery store I hadn't been in, since I moved to Flower Mound, there was a sense of calmness that I hadn't experienced before. I heard piano music. It sounded like a piano concert! Surely, the store chose something different than the usual songs I hear that entice you to buy more than you need. But then, when I neared the front of the store to pay for my groceries, there was the Piano Man playing on a baby grand piano! I was thrilled!  There was music to my ears. Tah Duh!

Happy Tuesday - may joy be with you!

Good morning Patricia. May your great start to the New Year continue throughout the duration. And may many, who think the country id going in the wrong direction see the same things you are seeing like dropping gas prices and a new sense of family unity. May these things continue to spread and more prices drop, inflation stay low and family unity spread to friendships and new unities. Enjoy your day.

Good Tuesday morning, Patricia. The Wolf moon was also beautiful over Maryland.

Have a great day!

Roy Kelley - The Wolf moon was heavenly! I'm so glad 2026 started out bright and glorious! By the time I got home, I stepped out to the ballfield and looked up to the sky. It had traveled so much further than my glimpse of the moon. I hope it's a good omen.

What a lovely collection of moments. I appreciate how you slow things down and notice the small, meaningful changes that often go overlooked. Finding joy in everyday experiences like family connection, music, and even gas prices is a wonderful reminder that optimism is built one observation at a time. Thank you for sharing this uplifting reflection.

Gwen Fowler SC Lakes & Mountains 864-710-4518 - I am so thankful I was able to open up my eyes and see the beautiful baby faces and their smiles too! It was a very good exchange - better than a handshake.

I truly hope all children and their families are blessed with good health and joy. Sometimes it takes more optimism to see results change, like lower gas prices. I don't know when the world changed from being patient to instant gratification. Never, ever did I support fast food restaurant chains. My experience in the grocery store was something I hope more stores would implement. It made my time looking for those ordinary things into an extraordinary evening while the Piano Man kept playing his one-man concert performance!

Patricia, nice to see gas prices coming down.  We have seen some below $2 here.  In AZ it was upper $2's.   Wow, a piano man at the grocery store, that's a new one.

Joan Cox - Sometimes it's the simple things that people want, but don't seem to get, like paying less at the gas station that means so much!

I'll tell you, if I could make a wish right now, I would wish for more Piano Players playing the music that fills our hearts with kindness, joy, and respect for one another.

How wonderful! I can't remember the last time I heard live piano music in a store - maybe in the 1980s in Macys in NYC? And that moon! A full moon anywhere is just so awe inspiring. Love it!

Kat Palmiotti - It was a big surprise to me! There is nothing else that can compare to live piano music while shopping. It makes the whole experience less stressful.

A beautiful full Wolf Moon and Piano Music too - it just couldn't get any better, especially because both were free!

Great Tah-Dah moments Patricia, and $2.12 per gallon for gas is quite the bargain!

Patricia I hope we get to see your gas price here in CT.  When gas prices go down, so do most all other costs.

George Souto - I hope you're right. These high grocery prices are ridiculous. I buy what's grown or made in the USA. There's no excuse why the prices consistently go up from week to week.

I hope you see lower gas prices ASAP!
