Reflect, Rejoice, and Renew - 2025 & into 2026

By
Industry Observer DRE# ER40011786

Thank  you to Leanne Smith and Carol Williams for hosting this month's challenge where we need to write about how we looked back on 2025.

For the past couple of years, I have been slowing down, and not taking as many clients, instead referring them out.   I have done a few transactions per year, but only with those I truly want to work with (and when I have been in town).

To REFLECT - Business

All of them were past clients, and two clients had 7+ transactions for that family.   It is ALWAYS a joy to work with past clients when you know how they work when they are selling or buying.   They know how I work as well, and it is a smooth and easy transaction.    You know, when working with past clients, the way they operate, and they can also trust us!

To REJOICE - Business

Since the end of December 2025 was my official retirement date, I am going to rejoice over my 30 years of being a Broker in Denver!   I have had so many super WONDERFUL clients that were always loyal to me.    I had many multiple transactions with many of my client families, and will cherish this forever!  So many have become good friends!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

To REFLECT - Personal

My goal for 2025 was to get back to Portugal to check out the Algarve as a RESIDENT, not as a tourist.  Look at grocery stores, retail establishments, and neighborhoods.   After my Tour I did in Europe, I flew back down to Portugal for another week and LOVED it.   When I returned, I started obtaining the documents needed to file for a VISA.

To REJOICE - Personal

Traveling was absolutely delightful, exploring Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, and Prague.   I also made a road trip from Denver to Vermont - WHEW, overdid that trip a bit, WAY too much Butt Time!   Vermont and Alabama were the only states I had not visited, so now just one state.    Also, did a two-week trip to Bullhead City for the Christmas Holiday.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting this New Year, I am so pumped as all I will have is Personal.  Effective 12/31/25, I am now retired and moving mid-year to Portugal to live the life!

Até nos encontrarmos em Portugal - until we meet in Portugal....

Hi Joan,
It's always fun to work with previous clients because you already know each other. As for your future plans, you're in for a lot of  fun learning experiences.
