Three Families Home for the Holidays

A Weston CT Real Estate Story

Wrapped Just in Time for Christmas

When strategy, community and communication come together

There is something especially meaningful about helping families close on a home just in time for the holidays. As the year winds down and homes fill with warmth, traditions and togetherness, real estate becomes far more than contract and keys, it becomes about timing, trust and thoughtful guidance.

This past holiday season, I had the privilege of helping three families successfully close on their homes before Christmas, including representing both the buyer and the seller of a special property at 104 Blue Spruce Circle in Weston, CT. It's a story that perfectly captures what great real estate representation truly looks like, collaboration, preparation, communication and a deep understanding of both the market and the people behind the move.

A thoughtful downsizing meets a relocation dream

I first met the seller of 104 Blue Spruce Circle when they reached out about downsizing and moving closer to family. Like many homeowners in Fairfield County, they were ready for a new chapter, one rooted in connection and lifestyle rather than square footage.

We began preparing the home for market just before Thanksgiving. Launching a property during the late fall market requires intention and creativity. My goal wasn't just to list the home, it was to capture what made this home and town so special.

Creating a Fall Welcome that Stood Out

Because were were launching just before Thanksgiving, we leaned into the season. The home was set in a cozy, wooded neighborhood, tucked near Devil's Den Preserve, were the landscape is beautifully rustic, woodsy and serene. We created a fall-inspired entry with pumpkins, mums and rustic wreaths to highlight the homes natural surroundings and cozy charm.  The seller embraced every recommendation, which made all the difference. Homes show best when sellers and agents collaborate and this was a true partnership.

Supporting the Community during our Launch (had a little fun along the way)

We kicked things off with a fall themed broker open and public open house, welcoming agents, neighbors and buyers alike. We also had a local lender on site, ready to answer questions and provide clarity for potential buyers, because informed buyers are confident buyers.

We curated thoughtful giveaways to make the launch memorable and to give back locally. We supported the Aspetuck Wine and Spirits (a beautifully curated, newly opened shop that offers some of my favorite natural/organic wines), Lily's Weston Market (a beloved locally owned grocer known for its high-quality, natural offering), Viv's Veggies Farmstead (flowers and fresh baked goods), and Terrain Cafe in Westport (my favorite spot for brunch and shopping with it's greenhouse setting and farm-to-table menu).

These local giveaways helped create a buzz while supporting business that make the community special. The result, opening weekend generated immediate interest and meaningful conversations.

The Right Buyer, the Right Timing

Just as were were preparing for the busy open house weekend, I received a call from a buyer looking to relocate and had their sight set on Weston for its schools, community and quality of life. The moment they saw the property, they knew it was the one.

Because I represented both buyer and seller (dual agency role), transparency, organization and communication were absolutely essential. The buyers were also in the process of selling their home in another town, with a December closing already underway. With all parties aligned, buyers, sellers, attorneys, lenders and agents, we structured a clear, realistic timeline, stayed in constant communication and anticipated moving parts before they became challenges.

Thanks to everyone staying engaged and responsive (including the buyer purchasing our buyer's home), we were able to close earlier than contracted. From listing to closing, the home was listed, marketed and sold in just 34 days, wrapping up just in time for Christmas celebrations.

More than a sale, a team effort

This transaction is a perfect example of what today's real estate market demands. Sellers who trust my guidance, buyers who are prepared and communicative and an agent who understands strategy, people and timing.

Whether I'm representing a seller, a buyer or both parties, my role is never just to put a home on the market and a for sale sign. It's about strategic  preparation and staging, market analysis and pricing expertise, constant communication, a trusted professional network and showing up every step of the way.

And yes, it's also about enjoying the process. I truly love collaborating with clients, styling homes, supporting local businesses and helping families step confidently into their next chapter.

Experience makes the difference

Homes don't sell smoothly because of luck. They sell because of planning, preparation, relationships and experience. The home at 104 Blue Spruce Circle sold in 34 days, closing on December 2, 2025. I had the opportunity to represent both the buyer and the seller, and even with multiple moving parts, including the buyer selling a home simultaneously, the transaction came together seamlessly. All parties were able to close successfully on the same day and move into their new home just in time to settle in for the holidays.

If you are curious how this market activity relates to your own home, or if you know someone thinking about buying or selling in the area, I'd be happy to be a resource and share insights, no pressure, just information. I'm always happy to answer questions or offer guidance.

What Industry Partners Say

“It was a pleasure working with Lisa. She was representing both the buyer and seller while I handled the mortgage for the buyer. There were a lot of moving parts, as the buyer was also selling a home simultaneously. Lisa held the closing together and represented all sides fairly. I would highly recommend working with her for both buying and selling a home.”  Jake Healy, Lender, CrossCountry Mortgage
