Nerdin Gardens: Sage What?!
Uses for Fresh Sage
We grow a diverse variety of herbs in Nerdin Gardens every year. Home made meals are a reflex for me, so it's ultra-convenient to walk several steps then pick what's needed. What is sage, you ask? Sage is an herb in the mint family with longish, gray-green leaves commonly used in cooking.
History of Sage
Since medieval times, gardeners have hung bundles of sage, also known as a 'holy herb' throughout the interior rows to ward off negativity, protect against harmful forces. This is deep-rooted in cultural folklore, where sage has long symbolized protection and purification. It smells good too.
How to Bundle Sage
Cut fresh sage leaves from the garden with scissors. Line them all up and stack. Take natural twine and wrap until securely held together. Allow the leaves to dry in a dark place for several days. They are ready to be hung or given as gifts.
Harmonious Back Yard Gardening
By suspending sage bundles tied with natural twine and replacing them every growing season, people invite harmony while gently repelling bad juju, blending practicality with profound spiritual intent. A friend has a bundle at the front door to welcome positivity when all pass through.
Giving Sage Bundles as Gifts
Am going to pull the rest of the sage in the garden to make some bundles for family members and friends who may need some cleansing for their own reasons. Oh, I just remembered! A buyer client is closing on a property in the next day or so, I might even ask if she'd like a bundle!
Salutations all from Nerdin Gardens!
