Encourage Others

I believe most of us like to encourage others. That is certainly true of participants here in/on Active Rain.

"Everyone needs encouragement; a pat on the back is good for the backbone." (author unknown)

Good Monday to You. 😊

My Monday coffee mug features Mr Bill. Do you remember him from the first season of SNL? Mr Bill was a fatalist, and for good reason, as a claymation character he usually got flattened at the end of the skit.

Thankfully you and I don't get flattened. We may get a bit deflated but if we share out woes and concerns here in the Rain there is always an outpouring of encouragement from fellow bloggers. That encouragement alone keeps me faithful to Active Rain.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

I thought he was on the show In Living Color...I did not realize he was on SNL...I learn something new everyday.

Mr. Bill is a clay figurine star of a parody of children's entertainment created by New Orleans native Walter Williams in 1975.[1][2] The Mr. Bill showing got its start on Saturday Night Live as a series of Super 8 films sent in response to the show's request for home movies during the first season.[3] Mr. Bill's first appearance occurred on the February 28, 1976 episode.

Encouragement really is one of the simplest and most powerful things we can offer each other. A kind word or a little recognition can change the tone of someone’s entire day. Spaces like this work best when people take the time to lift each other up.

Good morning, Bob... having managed people in the corporate world for many years, I know only too well how far a pat on the back or an "atta boy" goes. As for SNL, I have no clue what you're talking about... I've never seen a single show.

Good morning Nina Hollander, Broker 😊. I thought the original cast of Saturday Night Live was great but as they left the show got more and more political and not worth watching anymore.

Hi Bob,
Like, Nina Hollander, Broker I never watched SNL. Nor did I never get into Friends, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, The Sopranos, or so many other popular shows. I do relate to what you say about ActiveRain being a place of encouragement and support. It is like a chosen family for me.

Carol Williams hi Carol... I did watch the Sopranos... maybe because I was familiar with that world and it was based in my back yard.

I did not watch Friends or The Sopranos either Carol Williams . I also missed 24 and several other popular shows. I have to be pretty bored to sit and watch TV.

Bob "RealMan" Timm - I did not have a television to watch SNL. I guess I can say, I don't know, what I don't know.

What a bright way to start the week, Bob "RealMan" Timm. And your take on encouragement hits with a kind of simple truth that sticks 😊. The mix of humor, heart, and that reminder that we all lift each other up here made this a great read. Thanks for sharing something that adds a little spark to the day!

It was fun to write Lew Corcoran . As I've said before it's a treat to respond to Timmothy's cartoon for the day.

Everyone appreciates a pat on the back and especially when they are trying something new. People have to know that the glass isn't always half empty
