Since quite a few of my favorites in the Rain wanted to hear about my recent cruise, I figured I would tell everyone about it and share a few pictures. My brother and I had a wonderful time visiting Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlán. It was such a great way to start out 2026!

We departed from San Diego and returned to San Diego, which allowed the convenience of being able to drive out there and back without having to hassle with the airlines, haha. During the trip, there were so many amazing sunrises and sunsets. The most amazing one occurred while I was eating dinner one evening, but I didn't get photos of it because the window had a reflection. So many people were going over to the window and taking photos of it or video, but I opted to enjoy it with only my eyes and continued eating, haha.

Instead of taking any of the excursions, we opted to just explore the cities on our own. It was certainly the right choice, and we saw so many nice places in each of the three cities we docked at.  Of course, I wanted to attend Mass during my trip, and I was blessed to be able to attend a Mass in Ensenada and Mazatlan, but unfortunately not in Cabo San Lucas.

I enjoyed the relaxation on the ship, did some reading, and got plenty of sun!!! One of the things I love most about cruises is the food served, so many different options to choose from, and I certainly tried most, if not all, of the dessert offerings, haha.

I specialize in the East Valley of the Phoenix Metro area - Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Apache Junction, and Gold Canyon

I definitely enjoyed Mazatlan more than Ensenada Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 so in that respect it was indeed disappointing, but I didn't find it to be too bad.

That sounds like a fantastic way to start the year.

There’s something special about traveling at a relaxed pace and exploring places on your own terms — and those sunrises and sunsets sound unforgettable. Thanks for sharing a bit of the journey and the photos.

Aww, Brian England 😊

My day is going great — busy in a good way. Building digital infrastructure for high-volume agents keeps me on my toes. Everything has to be in order, polished, and ready to roll.

What a fun trip and a great way to start off the year.  I am jealous of the short sleeve shirts haha.  We are having a winter here this year, I guess we all have to take one for the team although it’s not as cold as some areas.  I love the beautiful sunsets.  Thanks for sharing - hoping we can take a cruise later this year!

Brian, isn't travel invigorating. Did you have opportunity to explore local hangouts where locals eat or stroke up conversations with English speakers, or bump into American expatriates there?

We didn't spend that much time in each city Kris Collis but plenty of locals tried to get us to dine at their restaurants, haha.  I enjoyed interacting with the locals a bit, as I do in all of my travels!

Brian England What a refreshing post, so happy for you. You never cease to amaze me, and I admire that you attend Mass wherever you go. I am stuck here in bitterly cold temperatures and snow with ice, but it must be meant to be, as Cleo sits watch and lets me know when the birds need more birdseed. Warm sunshine sounds fantastic. I lost my voice for a week, but I found it. - Life is good 😃

I am sure that the birds are pleased with Cleo letting you know that they need more seed Hannah Williams, haha.  I am sorry that you have to be in the cold.  Maybe you could become a snowbird and live in Arizona during the winter months, as many people from your neck of the woods do, haha.
