Friday Flags: Hotchkiss Field Flag Waving for Me

It has been a tough week, and I was not preprepared for this post. As I was making my way out of Prospect, I glanced over to the fields at Hotchkiss Field, and the flag was beckoning to me.

I turned around and went in, parked and started to make my way over to where the flagpole was, which was on the opposite of the park.

The wind had disappeared, and I felt I was going to be disappointed, but still, I had a streak to keep.

The wind returned and I got my shot. So far this has been my best experience this week.

I'm sorry to hear your week didn't go that well, but I"m happy the wind and flag cooperated! We have to take our wins where we find them.

Great photo, Ed. Those wind gods truly must like you. I think they appreciate your diligence in finding just the right shot of Old Glory. Hope you have a better week next week.

Good morning Ed. Flags dare not wave for you. The wind gods won't allow it. The man of patience gets his shot. See you next week for more.

Sometimes those unplanned moments turn out to be exactly what we need. That flag showing up at just the right time feels symbolic after a tough week. Thank you for keeping the Friday Flags tradition going and for sharing a quiet moment of reflection with it.

It looks to be cold there, especially since nobody is out there playing soccer on the fields, haha.  Nice capture of the flag, though!

Ed I hope the rest of your week gets better.  But one thing is for sure, the wind continues to cooperate with your flag photos.

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 - Hotchkiss Field sounds like an interesting name. Someday, I hope you write about how they got that name or who it was named after.

As for not having the perfect day, well... at least you got out, you saw, and you weren't stuck in bed at the hospital. I hate having to go to the doctor's office and the hospital.

I will take a windy bad day outdoors anytime!

Sorry to hear about your week, Ed. But the wind gods were certainly on your side, once again, for this Friday Flag photo.
