Martin Luther King, Jr A Man With A Dream Of Equality For All

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man who deserves to be honored and respected.  Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, is a day very worthy of being celebrated.   Martin Luther King, Jr. deserves this honor and much, much more.  The opportunities many have today are a result of Martin Luther King, Jr. vision and work.

Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream not for himself but for all mankind.  A dream of equality, freedom, and justice.  Nothing Martin Luther King, Jr. did centered on himself, it all centered on others.  His life was one of service to others unconditionally.

As a young boy from a different country, Martin Luther King, Jr. taught me a major life lesson, one I learned very early in my life.  He taught me not only to dream, but to fully expect the dream to be fulfilled.  No matter how huge or impossible the dream may seem, it can come true if we are willing to climb to the top of the mountain, and work to fulfill our dream.

There is much division today, and the need to follow Martin Luther King, Jr's dream has not been needed more in recent times than today.   The protests of today do not even come close to resembling the peaceful protests Martin Luther King, Jr. led.  Martin Luther King, Jr. promoted peace and unity, today's protests instead promote division and violence.  It is time to honor him by returning to the example he set and make his dream a reality.

I Hope you take the time today to reflect on the life of an honorable and just man, who left an example of how to live in service to others.  Martin Luther King, Jr was and still a man who deserves to be both honored and respected.

George Souto - your post is similar to what I highlighted earlier this morning in my post too about protests. You did a great job.

George Souto oh boy, George... you truly said it all. And as an immigrant child to this country, I also expected my dreams to come true.

His dream really isn't far-fetched at all, and it makes me sad to know that it has yet to come true and likely never will.

Good morning George. Times have changed since the 60's, some things for the better and many for the worse. Today is a great day to review the words of  Dr. King and ponder. Enjoy your day.

He was a calm voice in a time of great turmoil on so many fronts. His message was listened to, but it took longer for it to be heard.

Nice blog, George. I was raised post the civil rights movement, and was always taught to respect all people, regardless of race. I wish we would get back to treating everyone with respect.

He was a man for all people who dared to dream and inspire millions of people, George.

First a very good post and second my sense is people have been taught both inside and outside of education that protesting is OK or rioting is OK because of the First Amendment. Yet these words are there and now totally ignored "peaceably to assemble."
