I Think I'd Remember That.

I do get up in the middle of the night and in addition to using the restroom I occasionally take care of a chore or two but I usually remember doing it.

As Real Estate professionals there are several/many things we need to make routine in our lives.

Make sure we turn the lights out after a showing.

Close exterior doors and windows.

Put the key back in the lock box.

If we are Listing a home there is a whole nother list as long as your arm to get done as there also is a long list when we submit an offer that is accepted.

Thankfully the execution of the list of things to remember becomes habit very quickly for most Real Estate professionals. That being said: we all have brought keys home that belong in a key box. We have all missed turning a light off and most of us have forgot to meet a Home Inspector on site at least once in our career.

My point is no one is perfect. New agents are learning, old agents are forgetting. Be kind, you have probably made/or will make the same mistake.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Happy Monday Bob and thank you for reminding us all what to do if we show a home, I see so many times people do not lock the sliding door in the home.

Well said. Real estate is built on systems and habits, not perfection. Even the most experienced professionals have moments when routine slips. What matters is accountability, learning, and extending grace to one another. Kindness costs nothing, and experience has a way of reminding us we are all human.

HI Bob- you're right...we're only human and not perfect. This is why what we do in whatever line of work we're in, relies on procedures and checklists.

Don't forget the Zoom call tomorrow.

Expert guidance. Exceptional results.

What a grounded reminder of how much this work leans on simple habits and a little grace along the way, Bob "RealMan" Timm. Your take on the everyday slip ups we all make hit home, and the way you frame it brings a smile. Thanks for sharing something that feels both true and encouraging.
