Zoom, Zoom, Zoom!
This is my entry into the January Active Rain Challenge: Reflections, Rejoicing, or Renewal put forth by Leanne Smith and Carol Williams . My entry is mostly focused on Reflection and Renewal although there is some Rejoicing as well.
The Reflection portion of 2025 in regards to Active Rain and the Tuesday Zoom meeting is that I got involved early BUT after a meeting or two I dropped off due to the time commitment. Tuesday at 1:00 Central time just didn't work for me... until I made it work. 😊
Then in October or November a meeting was announced with a topic that caught my attention. I think it may have been a simple introduction to AI.
I did not find it simple at all and they continued on that topic for several week and I just got more and more confused. It just did not click for me BUT I enjoyed the people involved with the Zoom call. A profile picture gives you a one dimensional view of people involved in Active Rain but a live Zoom call tells you a lot more about a person's personality.
"Some persons are likable in spite of their unswerving integrity." Don Marquis
"The test of personality is: if you were someone else, could you stand yourself?" author unknown.
"Some people get credit for having a nice personality when they are merely proud of their teeth" author unknown
As far as rejoicing, yes, there have been plenty of laughs prior to, and during the Zoom calls. Who doesn't like laughing.
"The most thoroughly wasted of all days is that on which one has not laughed." Chamfort
"People learn while they laugh, but very few of them know that they are learning" Frank Moore Colby
Renewal of good habits is essential. I intend to renew being in on the Zoom calls all of 2026. Some other things I plan on renewing this year (as long as I stay healthy) are:
A long walk EVERY day.
Thank God 5 times a day.
Show up for work 5 days a week. (I didn't say I'd work 5 days a week but I will be there.)
If you have not been in on a Tuesday Zoom Meeting you really should give it a try. It's fun to see whos profile picture is older than dirt and it's fun to get to know more about those people you already like anyway.
