February Challenge…Member Appreciation
for This Maverick
This month’s challenge, hosted by Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran, is going to be fun. It’s the perfect way to shine a much-deserved light on a fellow member!
The real challenge comes in trying to decide who to highlight. We have many members who daily give and share, making this platform a better place.
There is a member who doesn’t post every day, or every week, for that matter. However, every Tuesday at 1 pm CST, Eileen Burns is at our Zoom call to present and moderate. She is always there with an intelligent question for the presenter. I know that is something we count on.
She is also instrumental in making sure we have speakers on Tuesdays.
I met Eileen in South Florida during our many ActiveRain Meetups. She held some in Broward County and also attended the ones we held in Delray or Boca and as far north as Jupiter. From these meetups, I learned that Eileen is the consummate Networker.
Our Meetups in Broward always had non(potential) ActiveRain members invited by Eileen. She made sure everyone was introduced and always provided a short “elevator speech” about what we did.
If you want to know about the local economy and the area's plans… ask Eileen. If I were starting a new business, I know she would be there for support and advice on getting my name out there.
I have seen Eileen support other members who may have been maligned by another member in a post or comment. She is firm and yet diplomatic in her efforts. I witnessed this recently, and I applaud her for speaking up.
