Declutter the mind so you can concentrate

By
Real Estate Agent with Wayne M Martin

This will be my second entry to the February challenge, if accepted, hosted by Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran. When the challenge was posted my mind went wild with possible choices and what they have meant to me and my participation here in the Rain. The list was long and kept growing of those here in the Rain and those who have moved on for whatever reason. In order to declutter my mind and make more submissions in the future I have to mention many here and cut my list back to manageable size. That said the people I mention here are not likely to be everyone that had come to mind.

I begin with Steve Hoffacker who invited me to join the Rain and introduced me to Lou Ludwig. Moving along with those who I have met personally over the years Kathy Streib, Elyse Berman, Donald Urschalitz, Conrad Allen, Joe Petrowsky, Norm Padula, Noah Seidenberg, Alan May, Margaret Goss, Lisa Von Domek, The Real Debbie Reynolds, Evelyn and Larry Johnson and more. My brain is hitting overload. All in some way had an influence on me.

Then there are those who have had an influence through the Rain or phone call over the years beginning with a very valuable member Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400, Patricia Feager, MIchael Jacobs, Brian England, Nina Hollander, Roger Mucci, Clint Mckie, James Dray, John McCormick, Rob Thomas and more. Brain drain again.

The value of participating in the Rain has provided me the opportunity to meet. directly or in directly, so many I would never have engaged with in all parts of the country with interesting backgrounds. It's what keeps me active even in retirement when I have time to read more and ponder more when not spending time with my grandkids which is my pure joy.

I have come this far attempting to declutter and clear my mind and as you may have surmised by now I have failed. That said it was fun trying. Enjoy your day.

So hard to narrow the list when there are so many that we have interacted with for over two decades. Love some of the names from the past and appreciate being a part of that list...Thanks so much for all you do, keeping things going on the RAIN!

Wayne Martin - It's hard to believe some of the great ones have passed away: Lou, Don, Conrad, Joe, Noah, John McCormick, and Clint.  Their legacy lives on in our hearts and memories. There were masters in the past, in our present, and there will be more in our future. We must enjoy each other while we can. Challenges like this brings about many memories. Wayne, you are a vital member of ActiveRain, and also a master in the real estate world.

Thank you for mentioning my name with other memorable people. It has always been an honor to know you. Isn't it something how "The Road Less Traveled," took root and grew. It brought all of us strangers together.

Wayne- ook at you!!!   I love the clutter you have in your mind!  There have been many here who have had an influence on this platform and many of us. I miss Donald Urshalitz, and I miss James Dray's posts. It's tough walking down memory lane.

I think that this is a great entry because it includes so many wonderful people!  I see a lot of names that I miss being able to interact with in the Rain for one reason or another.  I hope that one day we will get to have an adult libation together in person!

You just never know! It would be a great day to meet you in person. In the meantime keep enjoying adult libations in moderation.

Good morning again, Wayne. Thanks for the mention. Isn't it just astonishing how close we can feel to people we've never met in person but with whom we interact regularly here in the Rain? And when we do meet them it's like we've known them forever.

It is truly amazing. I regularly speak with Bob Timm and it is like we have known each other forever and we have never met.

Hi Wayne,
The list of those with whom we have interacted and become true friends in the rain continues to grow. It's impossible to mention them all.

Bingo! I had to declutter because I kept thinking of names. As I write this I am recalling names I should but did not include.

I am at odds as to who of the may I have encountered and talked to in the rain over the years.  I do like your approach, however.

The RAIN is a family of people you may or may not have met.

This is a thoughtful reflection on how community and shared experiences shape us over time. It captures both the challenge and the value of acknowledging influence without trying to contain it all. The connections formed here clearly matter, and that sense of gratitude and reflection is what keeps engagement meaningful, even in retirement.

Wayne I think many of us feel as you do.....so many amazing people we have met and interacted with this past 20 years.  Where to start?  Like I told Patricia  & Lew I could write 500+ posts about folks I've met but I simply don't have the energy to do so.
