Yesterday, a client called to let me know they had a referral for me.
It’s always a win when someone sends a potential client your way. After chatting with them, I learned the referral was in an area over an hour and a half away, in a market I wasn’t familiar with. I knew I wouldn’t be the best REALTOR for the job, but I already had an alternative solution in mind.
I let my client know that I have a referral network I can tap into if I might not be the best fit for a referral. I told him I could still help match the referral with a great agent who would take good care of them.
I reached out to my trusted REALTOR professional in that area, and together we established a successful referral agreement. The match has been made!
What is a Real Estate Referral Agent?
A referral agent is a licensed real estate professional who plays a matchmaker between homebuyers and the most qualified agents to help them. Think of them as the dating app of the real estate world, connecting people with their perfect match.
When clients need help outside an agent’s area or expertise, connecting them with another REALTOR helps meet their needs and earns the referrer compensation.
Referral agents support their clients, grow their networks, and ensure quality service—even when they’re not directly involved in the transaction. Being proactive in making referrals benefits everyone and strengthens their business reputation.
Whether someone is looking to buy a second home, investment property, or planning to relocate out of state or even abroad, I can help connect them with a qualified agent for the job. Call me for all your real estate needs! If I’m not able to assist, I’ll make sure to connect you with the right person who can.
