Motivational Power Quote

Use It or Lose It

“For the human mind is seldom at stay:

If you do not grow better, you will most undoubtedly grow worse.”

Samual Richardson 1689 – 1761, British Writer and Painter

As I see it . . . . . . .

Use it or lose it

Your mind acts like the muscles in your body.

A muscle is meant to be used to remain strong and in peak condition. An athlete maximizes the use of their muscles by condition them for peak performance.

A muscle that goes unused will lose its strength and range of motion.

A human mind is intended to be used and expanded to be proficient.

A mind that is active and being expanded will grow and be able to absorb and store a great deal of information. The human mind is able to handle a great amount of information and will not become overloaded, as it expands.

The person that becomes overwhelmed by information is not overwhelmed by the information they are overwhelmed by the way they think. How a person sorts information is part of their personally and the person that stresses over information stresses in many other areas of their life.

Use it or lost it. Put your mind to work and you will find that your mind has a vast amount of storage and capacity. Stretch your mind to new levels and you will find that your mind has the capacity to be stretched to new limits.

Use it or lose it is so true. When I broke my ankle, I expected to be able to walk just fine as soon as they took the cast off. But all the other muscles I hadn't been using had to "relearn" how to walk all over again. I am positive the same is true of all the rest of us - our brain, our attitude, etc.
