This is my third entry to the February challenge being co-sponsored by Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran. each could well be a prime candidate to be featured if they were not the sponsors. Each is worthy of selection. As you may now know if you read my second entry my time here in the Rain has developed a long list of worthy candidates. That said there is one active here that shares a close bond with my line of thinking.
And, that is Bob "RealMan" Timm. Is it that we share natures lack of hair as we age? No. Is it his love of camping? No, I do not like camping. Is it his love of cold weather living in Minot? No. Neither one of us likes the cold weather. The proper answer is his love and dedication to family.
I relocated from Florida back to Chicago to be closer to my son when I retired. I was here when my first grandchild was born. The wife and I cared for him daily until he went to preschool at age 3. Next was my granddaughter who we cared for the first 3 years of her life.
Bob and I become friends here in the Rain right after my wife and I relocated. Then we started with phone calls and spoke about family. I have spoken with his son Timmothy and purchased both of his published books. Bob, sidelines as a notary in retirement to have an office location so he can promote Timmothy's art. Promoting the art is his vocation, family first, and being notary offsets the rent and gives him something to do.
His daughter Tina is now married, living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Guess what Bob is thinking of doing? Yep, like me relocating to be closer so he can have time with his grandkids as I do. Tina and her husband have been put on notice by Bob to do their part. Think we have things in common that bring us close together?
I am willing to bet that his wife and Timothy are onboard with his line of thinking.
Bob and I have more in common than retirement.
And that sums it up for entry three. Enjoy your day.
