Flower Mound Fire Department was on the scene of a big neighborhood fire in the older Westchester Subdivision where houses were built in the 1980s. The home fire spread to nearby neighborhood homeowners' properties, cars, fencing, and shed. Many firefighter crews were called at the scene.

For public safety, drivers must pull over and slow down when emergency vehicles, such as fire trucks, with lights are activated. The "Move Over Law," mandates when drivers on the roads hear and see firetrucks rushing to a rescue mission, that drivers vacate the lane closest to the emergency vehicle or reduce speed to 20 mph below the posted limit if they cannot move over safely. Failure to comply can result in fines and penalties, emphasizing the importance of adhering to these laws to protect emergency responders to ensure public safety.
People need to give rescue crews space to fight fires and clean up debris caused by embers and spreading fires. Rushing to the scene to stand around in clouds of smoke to watch puts your own health and safety in jeopardy. When you're in the radius of smoke and fire, get out of the way and let firefighters do their job.
