An Ode To Spring

In addition to Timmothy's cartooning and fine arts skills I really appreciate his writing skills too.

LOVE Spring!

I love everything about Spring. The temps reaching 50 degrees and above, the appearing of what was under the snow for 6 months (except the dog poop clean up). All things green, even the weeds look good at first, at least they are growing. Clean pavement and the smell of Springtime air.

I also love seeing couples out walking hand in hand and children out to play.

Spring let's me bring out the garden hose and the tools I need to wash my cars. I even like getting the tiller out in anticipation of planting the garden.

A word of caution to those who are new to the area that like to garden: Wait! I'd wait until late April to start seedlings in the home. Starting earlier is going to result in scraggly plants that will most likely die before you can put them into the ground. You don't want to plant out in the garden until the 3rd week of May. Happy planting.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

Spring will be much anticipated in our area and the garden doesn't get planted until just before Memorial Day. Hopefully, by then the snow will have melted

We are on the same page Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 and even then we may need to cover our plants a day or two.

Good morning, Bob... I gave up on worrying about when to plant anything years ago. If there's one thing I can't imagine doing it's seedlings inside my house. :)

I can't imagine you bringing dirt into your house either Nina Hollander, Broker 😉.

A warm and genuine reflection. Writing like this captures the simple joys of the season and the rhythm of life returning outdoors. The practical gardening advice adds value while keeping the tone personal and relatable. Well done by Bob Timm.

I love Spring too! I did plant some seeds inside the house this week - for my herbs. But I have a greenhouse so they should be fine to transfer in a month or so.

I am green with envy Kat Palmiotti . My neighbor has a green house she doesn't use so I am going to make her an offer on it.

Bob "RealMan" Timm Spring is my favorite season, and I hope the groundhog is wrong and Spring arrives early.

George Souto our weather guessers have been saying we are experiencing a "false Spring" here because the temps have been 20 degrees above normal for two weeks. Tomorrow even has the possibility of setting a record (50 degrees) BUT it's coming to an end next week.

HI Bob- I love seeing the little buds begin to pop out on the trees on our walks. We're geeing ready for nesting season and monitoring our bluebird boxes.

Kathy Streib I love seeing your photographs of the eggs and baby birds. You also reminded be that I check the buds on the trees of our boulevard daily once it feels like Spring.

What a bright lift this was, Bob "RealMan" Timm. The way you captured those first hints of Spring made me smile, even the part about the dog poop clean up. Thanks for sharing a little warmth and wisdom while we all wait for the season to catch up.
