The Guys Who Show Up
One of the things I love most about the ActiveRain community is the interaction.
We write.
We share.
And when we’re lucky, someone takes the time to read and respond.
For this month’s challenge, hosted by Patricia and Lew, I'm sharing appreciation for a member (or members) in good standing. I decided to look back not at one post, but at the last 2 dozen of my recent daily blog posts. I wasn’t looking for perfection or “every single day” participation. I was looking for consistency.
What I noticed made me smile.
The same group of names kept appearing, not on every post, but frequently enough that their presence stood out. These are the people who quietly, reliably show up.
So today, I want to say thank you to this group of guys!
George Souto, Ed Silva, Lew, Brian, Roy, Wayne Martin, Will, Jeff M, Nick, Michael J, John Pusa, and Sham. Note: links in comments.

Thanks, guys!
Many others comment on my posts, and I deeply appreciate them. But I realized that lately, many of the appreciation posts I’ve read have highlighted women, and I thought this might be a different, and equally important, way to spin the contest.
Here’s the thing:
When I write a post in the evening and start my day by reading comments the next morning, it sets the tone for my day. It tells me someone was there. Someone read. Someone cared enough to respond.
And for anyone who may not realize it, your comments truly matter to the blogger. They encourage us. They connect us. They remind us that this community is more than just posts on a screen.
Commenting may seem like a small thing, but to the person who took the time to write the post, it’s not small at all.
So, to the guys who consistently show up, engage, and contribute to the conversation, thank you. Your presence makes a difference.
“A comment may take a minute to write, but it can brighten someone’s entire day.”
