Wordless Wednesday…And So It Begins

Ready for occupancy-Tiny Home-

Amenities: close to fresh water,
daily food delivery, in-home camera

Larry and I have watched the birds at home and on our walks. Based on the bright colors of the male birds…nesting season is upon us.

We monitor several nesting boxes, including one in our backyard. Mama bluebird began building this nest at the beginning of February. She begins with a few pine needles. When she’s serious, the next takes shape quickly.

We have a camera mounted inside the box, and so far, no egg has been laid.

Stay tuned!

I look forward to your updates! I didn't realize they turned shades of color at nesting time. Interesting..

Kat Palmiotti you'll see the males of the species take on a deeper and brighter color. The male bird is a deep, bright blue and the male cardinal's red stands out it's so bright.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty We hope so. With the camera, we can see if there are eggs in the box and when they hatch. It's so much fun.

Wayne Martin we hope so. We've had nests earlier than this but the weather is perfect for them to start laying.

Good morning, Kathy... you bet I'm staying tuned! Love seeing those birdies each year.

Nina Hollander, Broker Kickerillo has construction going on near one of the bird boxes (the most productive) so we're hoping it won't disrupt the nesting.

I agree Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 When the temps were in the 20s here, we were hoping they would not start yet.

Good Morning Kathy Streib

It has always amazed me that the birds can construct suitable habitats that hold together.

Doug Dawes it's amazing, isn't it. The wren, on the other hand, makes what I call a hot-mess nest.

Kathy this year the gift my wife bought for the family Christmas party was a bird house with a camera.  My brother who puts out a few bird feeders on his deck was the one who got it and we know he will enjoy it.
