2026 Trends

According to designers, visual interest and harmony are leading the way in home design this year!  I am not really sure what that means but the pictures that are above look a lot like the stuff my new wife threw out when we got married.

When staging your home to sell, thoughtful shapes, layered materials, and pieces with character can help a space feel both elevated and inviting.  Staging is a lot different than furnishing.  It has numerous components from getting rid of everything and starting afresh to just simplifying so folks can envision their furniture in the room.

Make sense?

Great post, Peter! I had to laugh at the "stuff my wife threw out" comment—it’s funny how design trends eventually circle back to things we once considered outdated. You make a vital point about staging vs. furnishing, though; simplifying a space so a buyer can actually see themselves living there is the ultimate goal. Thanks for the Monday morning chuckle and the solid advice!
