Top 10 Best Markets for Real Estate Buyers in 2026
Sharing this interesting assessment of different markets for buyers. What are your thoughts on these areas?
As a Florida Realtor, I agree with the Florida cities mentioned. But there are many other areas of Florida that are ripe for buyers.
Of course, with 1300 miles of beautiful beaches, you are always pretty close to the open water. Take your pick, the Gulf or Ocean are never far away.
And for my Northern friends, yes it snows in Florida. Pensacola had 9" of snow recently. Some Gulf areas in the middle of the Gulf coast had flurries recently. The difference is that it usually doesn't last long like it does in other areas.

Top 10 Best Markets for Real Estate Buyers in 2026
Homebuyers in 2026 have something they have not seen in years: more choice and more power in certain markets.
In these places, the number of homes for sale has grown, giving buyers room to breathe, compare, and negotiate.
What makes a buyer’s market
Economists look at a number called “months of supply.” It shows how long it would take to sell all active listings at the current sales pace.
When this number is more than six months, it usually means buyers have the advantage because inventory is high compared with demand.
The 10 best markets for homebuyers
Recent research highlights 10 metros where buyers have strong leverage thanks to higher months of supply and rising inventory.
They are: Miami, Austin, Pittsburgh, Orlando, New York City, Tampa, Las Vegas, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Nashville.
Many of these are in Sun Belt states, where new construction has been strong and is still adding homes to the market.
As more homes hit the market and some buyers step back due to costs, sellers have become more open to price talks and concessions in these areas.
