Friday Fun…Hearts? Chocolates?

 

Today is Friday the 13th, but I’m not even asking if you’re superstitious. I know you’re not. 

Tomorrow, however, is Valentine’s Day!  There’s still time to avoid what could lead to a wee bit of discord in your home. Run out now…buy a box of the best chocolates…buy flowers…make reservations or plan a special dinner! 

 

When you were in grade school, do you remember writing out little Valentine's Day cards? Our mothers bought those cute packs of cards. We then decorated a box (usually a shoe box) and cut a slot in the lid for our classmates to drop in a Valentine card. 

We used to go to our favorite Italian restaurant for Valentine’s Day dinner…if we could get a reservation. This year, we’re having our good friends over. It’s much more relaxed and…a lot less expensive!

 

So…what about you? Any special plans for Valentine's Day?

No issues with a 13 day on a Friday, especially today as it is my brother's birthday.  

We typically don't go out on Valentines, as the crowds are excessive and the menus limited. 

We had a dinner last night at an Italian steak house and will do something special tonight as well, before we have a Saturday special Valentine's lunch

Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 oh, I've never enjoyed the pre-fixe menus on special holidays!   I was in our H-E-B today and there were heart-shaped balloons, boxes of chocolates, cookies,  pink-frosted cupcakes, etc everywhere. I wonder what they do with what they don't sell??

Kathy Streib thanks, Kathy. Plus we already had been out to dinner on Wednesday evening with out-of-town friends who had been staying with us this week. I'm a bit long in the tooth to be out three or four times in less than a week! :)

Hi Kathy:

I hope you and Larry had a special Valentine's Day yesterday with lots of chocolate.

Our V Day celebrations are different each year - yesterday we spend part of the day having brunch with our younger daughter and her family in LA. We had a great time and a wonderful meal.
