This month, Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran are leading our Appreciation of Active Rain Members challenge — and it is such a welcome reminder of what makes this platform special.
I have been a member of ActiveRain since around 2008. I have seen many platforms come and go, but ActiveRain remains. I truly appreciate that the owner Ben Kinney chose to invest in it and keep it functioning. Still, what really keeps it thriving isn’t technology — it’s the members, whom we are celebrating this month.
Does AR inspire me? Absolutely.
Does it help me? Every single week.
Is it positive, kind, generous, and supportive? Without question.
The community is why I log in almost every morning.
Over the years, I have learned valuable business strategies, connected with wonderful professionals through in-person meetups and Tuesday Zoom calls, received business from my blog posts and fellow members, and confidently referred my clients to agents I trust because of relationships built here. I have also received referrals and meaningful encouragement from members who consistently show up with positivity.
Recently, I experienced another aspect of what makes AR special.
I had the pleasure of working with Karen Jones, a lender and fellow ActiveRain member. Her philosophy is to minimize uncertainty and anxiety during a transaction — something we all strive for. Through her Buyer-Ready Program, she creates a smooth lending process that allows buyers to compete almost like cash purchasers. In today’s market, that’s powerful, and it will be even more powerful in a Seller's market.
After our smooth and successful transaction, as we exchanged thank-yous and talked about staying in touch, Karen encouraged me to join a real estate platform with over 300,000 members — and began describing ActiveRain.
I smiled.
You see, Karen makes it a practice to invite agents she enjoys working with to join ActiveRain so they can stay connected beyond the transaction. That, to me, reflects everything this Appreciation Challenge is about. She inspires. She helps. She supports. She builds community intentionally.
When she invited me, it opened the door for me to share how much ActiveRain has already meant to me — and how grateful I am to be part of a platform where members actively lift one another up.
If you have not yet connected with Karen Jones here on ActiveRain, I encourage you to visit her profile, learn more about her Buyer-Ready approach, and say hello. Members who actively strengthen our community deserve to be known — and supported.
That spirit of invitation, positivity, and genuine connection is extraordinary.
