Praying for snow

By

Never have I ever…searched how to make it snow.

I’ve lived in Colorado all my life.  It snows here, and sometimes A LOT.  I never had to pray for it to snow- it just did.

I must admit there were many times when I prayed it would NOT snow; like when I just wanted to get home safely from or get to work. I prayed many, many times for no snow when we wanted to be with family for Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas, and nevertheless, it snowed anyway!!!

But now, I’m back praying for snow.

I even searched “How to Make it Snow”!  and discovered these tips:

1. Place a spoon under your pillow

2. Wear your pajamas inside out (and some say backwards too)

3. Leave ice cubes on your porch

4.  Flush ice cubes down the toilet- 1 ice cube for every inch of snow you wish for...

5.  Place a white or blue crayon in the freezer

6.  Run around the Dining Room table 5 times before you go to bed

7.  Shake a snow globe every time you walk by it

8. Do a snow dance.  (I searched on You-Tube for the appropriate steps for “The” Snow Dance, but apparently everyone has their own style.  There is not just one Snow Dance, so put on your favorite tunes, and dance your heart out.)

I’m posting this just in case you didn’t already know these things. So. whether you’re young or old and in Colorado put your pajamas on inside-out and backwards, run around the dining room table 5 times, put a spoon under your pillow, throw some ice cubes on the porch and in the toilet bowl, shake your snow globe, pray and summon the snow!

Hi Jeffrey, I guess we won't know unless we test them out! :-)   Parts of Florida have actually gotten more snow than we have this year. Thanks for coming by today.

Mary, we NEED to pray for rain, or we will be in for major trouble down the road.  We didn't get but a skiff.

Hi Joan, we just got a skiff also!  Rain would be nice and help the landscape for sure, but snow is critical in the high country for water stores.  So maybe we should do a rain/snow dance! :-) Thanks for coming by, it's nice to see you.

I put the snow globe away on April 25th - I'm not saying I shook it every time I walked by, either.  I just got used to it being there (since Christmas!)

After I put it away, the next day it snowed just a skif, then the next day it snowed again- 2 inches! Go figure :-)
