The March 2026 Challenge has some new changes. Your hosts Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran hope you will be as enthusiastic about them as we are. This month there are 2 Challenges. Note: If you submit two or more posts for Challenge #1 or two or more posts for Challenge #2, you will receive only 1,000 per post.

Your Colleague's Contributions and Spirit Won't Be Forgotten.

The real estate industry is often defined by the housing market, closings, listings, sales, branding, home inspections, mortgage lending, and other personal stories. In the field of real estate, ActiveRain’s true foundation has always been about the people in the Real Estate Industry. Their lives helped shape the AR Community through positive networking, building relationships, sharing education, and inspiration.

Over the years, our community has lost many esteemed colleagues who were more than just professionals; they were mentors, friends, and the heart of our Social Media platform. In celebration of their lives and the lasting impact they left on us, we are putting together a Tribute in Celebration of their lives. Our goal is to capture the “human” side of the people who are no longer on ActiveRain. We are looking for your fondest memories and the stories that often happened behind the scenes – the kind that define a person’s character and spirit.

Your help in capturing the "human" side of the people we loved and lost would be appreciated. We are looking for your personal memories about the person you want to honor. Perhaps it was during blogging, RainCamp, Local Meet-Ups, Telephone Calls, Conventions, AR Challenges, or travels. Our goal is to define a person's character and spirit by celebrating their lives.

How You Can Participate

We invite you to contribute by writing down your favorite memories, anecdotes, or "only in real estate" stories involving our departed or missing colleagues. Was it: A piece of advice they gave you when you started out on AR?

  • Something memorable you bookmarked.
  • A time when things were so funny, you had to be there to believe it.
  • A moment of shared laughter during a memorable meet-up.
  • The unique way they went above and beyond to make you feel special.

All people are valuable gifts. Words of wisdom are appreciated. Share what they meant to you.

Honoring our dearly departed with memories and/or personal snapshots will help us build a meaningful legacy offering comfort to others, including families, by showing just how much their loved ones were respected by their peers.

May You Find Comfort in the Stories Shared About Those We Lost

Be sure to add the link for your entry March 2026 Challenge #2 - Celebrating AR Lives Lost to the bottom of this page. Thank you for helping us honor the memory of those who helped make this ActiveRain Community memorable, educational, and successful.

Hi Patricia,
Can the people we honor be alive but have dropped off the platform years ago?

Mar 01, 2026 06:04 AM
Patricia Feager

Carol Williams - good question! Here's the intention:

Honoring our dearly departed with memories and/or personal snapshots will help us build a meaningful legacy offering comfort to others, including families, by showing just how much their loved ones were respected by their peers.

I am in the process of proposing a different challenge for the missing. I don't want people to think that people who are still alive are deceased.

As I read this post, a few names come to mind, so I will have to decide which one to write about, or maybe I include all of them, haha.

It means a lot that this stirred up a few names for you, Brian England, and I love that you’re already thinking about how to honor them. Whether you choose one or decide to bring everyone along for the ride, your voice adds something real to this challenge. Thanks for leaning into it with such heart.

Think and celebrate their life by sharing. It would be an honorable mention of how their lives touched ours.

Expert guidance. Exceptional results.

This tribute challenge hits home in a way that makes you pause and smile at the same time, Patricia Feager, because it reminds us how much heart lives in this community. The way you framed the call for stories feels honest and comforting, and it nudges all of us to share the moments that still stick with us. Thanks for putting this together and giving everyone a chance to honor the folks who left a mark on our days here.

Lew Corcoran - I can't tell you enough about how proud I am to host AR Challenges with you! You're a gem and a friend who is so wise and educated on information I did not know.

When you wrote, "how much heart lives in this community," I had a deja vu moment. The song from "The Titanic" popped into my head, Our Hearts will go on.

Your thoughtful comments, Lew exemplifies how intelligent you are. It's no wonder members here on AR members and I, love to receive your comments and hear what's in your heart.

Thank you.

It means a lot to hear that, Patricia Feager, and it’s been just as special teaming up with you on these challenges. You have a way of lifting the whole room without even trying, and your note here did that again. The Titanic reference made me laugh because I could almost hear the song playing in the background while I read your words. Thank you for the kindness and for making this space feel a little warmer every time you show up.

Patricia I am going on my 20th year on this platform.  Along the way there have been special members that I consider friends, and made this site what it is. The gave me and others many special memories.  They are missed

What a sweet way to honor those who have passed, yet left an important mark on our lives professionally.

Thank you for saying that, Dr. Paula McDonald. It really does feel like a small way to keep their influence alive and to acknowledge how much they shaped us both personally and professionally. I’m glad the intention behind it came through.

Validating the people that shared their daily routines on ActiveRain, and left us comments, is the least we can do. Time is never on our side. And it's never too late to share with others, just how much the dearly departed meant to us. Sharing memories is good for the soul and for their families too.

Thanks for the willingness to give it a try, Mike McCann Broker - Mach1 Realty. Sometimes the hardest part is just settling on the person who left the biggest imprint. Once that memory clicks everything else seems to follow. I’m really glad you’re joining in.

I like that you want to give yourself a little time to think about who you want to write about and what that person meant to you. Once you know who you want to write about, a message will stir inside like refreshing scriptures that makes us all remember, just how much that person meant to you and the rest of us here on ActiveRain.

Thank you.

Odd Question Patricia Feager maybe...  Is there a place where the dearly departed are listed on AR?  Would help this old cowboy out a lot!
