Providing Comfort

Bean bags made to microwave for comfort are big in the Timm household. I'm not sure if Carol has ever made one using actual beans, she most often uses rice. They are usually about 7" X 9" and made out a heavy fabric like this one made out of a corduroy shirt.

The bags are far from filled, when laided flat as this one is, the rice is about 1" thick uniformly. 2 minutes in the microwave is usually plenty and they stay warm for 15 to 20 minutes.

They are great to warm up your hands on a cold day and I will often place one on an ach or pain.

That being said I would NOT use one to warm up a pet.

Do you enjoy the cartoons written by my son (Timmothy N. Timm) which I use as a springboard to write my daily posts? His strip, Titus & Philemon, has run in two newspapers for years as well as being printed in my blog every day. Titus & Philemon (pronounced Phi - Lee -Man) are guinea pigs. Their owner is Joe. Timmothy has never repeated a joke/comic strip in the 12 years he has been writing it. He has never copied another strip, such as Peanuts or Garfield. You can follow Timmothy on FB as Titus & Philemon and you can also check him out on Instagram as Instagram.com/titus and philemon/ .For Timmothy's website type timmtimmothy.com into your browser. I tried to put it in a link here but it refuses to work. Do NOT put anything in front of timmtimmothy.com or it will not work.

It is pretty awesome when you do something special that helps out another person (or pet) :)

I often put one on my shoulder pain Nina Hollander, Broker but I do also use one on cold hands as well. How did/are you doing with this current storm?

My wife used to have a bag that was about 6" wide and maybe 18" long and would put it in the microwave to place across her neck to ease her upper shoulder pains.

Hi Bob- I have something similar to what Ed Silva, 203-206-0754 I use it for my sinus headaches and love it. I had no idea you could make them using rice!!!!!

Sinus headaches are horrible. I have not had one for a long time so I'm glad you brought this up Kathy Streib . I do remember putting the bag on my head a time or two but it may have been for a hangover. See you tomorrow 😊.
