This month we are responding to a challenge by Patricia Feager and Lew Corcoran about writing our appreciation for Active Rain members.
I kept thinking about whom to write about - so many great bloggers, so many wonderful ideas, content, friendships.
I decided to write my second blog post for this challenge about the Weltanschauung and one of the people who often brought it to our attention through hosting a challenge - Lynn B. Friedman CRS Atlanta, GA 404-617-6375 .

I had been a reading member for a while in 2012, but I had not actually taken time to read the guiding principles of the online blogging community. From 2012 to about 2016, at the beginning of the year, Lynn hosted challenges related to the philosophy and guiding principles of the Active Rain community, all spelled out in the Weltanschauung.
These posts were more than writing prompts. They were wonderful invitations to reflect on who we are as real estate professionals and how we show up for our communities. Usually, they were a wonderful way to jump start the year, and remind us all of our direction and shared purpose - local expertise, homeownership, community, open dialogue. It was through those early challenges that I began to understand that Active Rain was not just a blogging platform - it was a professional philosophy in action.
Today, with consumers having instant access to listings and data, the Weltanschauung feels even more relevant. Local expertise, transparency and community engagement are true differentiators.
Lynn's steady reminders helped keep these principles front and center for us, strengthening the culture that continues to make Active Rain unique. Where principles lead, professionals thrive.
When was the last time you visited the Weltanschauung?
If you haven't read it recently, Lynn's Challenges are a great reminder that it's worth our time.
