Many of the members here on Active Rain have great "Can Do" attitudes. Recently I made a request of this "Can Do" member and in around 24 hours, the request was honored.
Being responsive is a great leadership attitude. To be responsive one must also be an active listener. By being an active listener, one can learn much about the individual as well as any requests made. All of these leadership skills are infused into leading one’s self (self-leadership) and leading others (leadership).
Even though I have never met this person face to face as we live thousands of miles apart, I felt comfortable enough to make a phone call to her and make a request. As someone who focuses on selling vacant land, dirt, I often had trouble in finding the correct category when sharing sellers’ listings of vacant land or writing about the difficulties in selling or buying these types of properties. My request was a simple.
Can Active Rain developers add the following two categories for consumers?
- Land Buying
- Land Selling
And drum roll, Debe Maxwell, CRS made the call, submitted the request to Active Rain developers and the result for Active Rain Members (as I am not the only member who sells dirt) we now have these two new categories. Yippee!! Even better all of this happened within 24 hours.
Noted business leader Peter Drucker stated “Leadership is results.” Debe is truly about results for Active Rain as well as her real estate practice. A quick Google search indicated that Debe ranks in the top 1% of Metro Charlotte area. Again, results do matter along with the consistent demonstration of positive core values.(my addition to Drucker's quote).
Being responsive is a positive core value.
My thanks to Debe for answering my telephone call, listening to me and her follow through with my request. Here on Active Rain, we have the opportunity to see and hear Debe Maxwell each Tuesday with the Zoom meetings.
