FHFA December Home Price Index 4th Quarter Of 2025

On February 24, 2026, The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced that the U.S. house prices gained 1.80% in the 4th quarter of 2025 from 3rd quarter of 2025, and higher 0.8% from 4th quarter of 2024 based on home sales values obtained from mortgages sold to or guaranteed by FNMA and Freddie Mac.

Nationwide, among nine census North Central Division was highest with an gain of 5.0% in the 4th quarter of 2025 from 4th quarter of 2024, while Mountain Division had a loss of 0.2% in the 4th quarter of 2025, from 4th quarter of 2024.

State of North Dakota had the highest increase of 6.4% in house prices in the 4th quarter of 2025, from 4th quarter of 2024.

Home values continue to grow in many areas...even if slower than in the recent past. It is still a good time to buy since mortgage rates have become more friendly.
