By
Industry Observer DRE# ER40011786

Ponte de Lima is located in the northern part of Portugal and is officially recognized as the oldest village in Portugal, having received the funeral of Queen D. Teresa on March 4, 1125.

This town is located in the district of Viana do Castelo and situated on the southern bank of the Lima River.    This medival bridge crosses the waterway.

In 2021, the municipality had a population of 41,164.

Will look forward to seeing this village once I get over there!

Joan Cox, Retired Broker/Owner hi Joan... I love historic, old towns like this. Looks like the bridge has been reinforced over the centuries. (A good thing.)

Candy Stevens, EA I do think MOST European cities have buildings much older than ours.   Maybe Dubai doesn't.

Dorie, I don't think this town is very big, so not sure if I will stay there, but Braga isn't too far away.

Kat Palmiotti luckily it could take up to 4 months to finalize the VISA process once I get to Portugal, and they keep the passport until finished.   It could take me that much time to see off of what Portugal offers inland.
