"Home is not a place... it is a feeling."
-Cecelia Ahern
One of the things I enjoy most about ActiveRain is how it brings together professionals from communities all across the country. Every one of us lives and works somewhere unique, and every place has a story.
This month Margaret Rome Baltimore 410-530-2400 and I are inviting you to participate in the ActiveRain April Challenge.
What do you love about where you live?
Not the statistics.
Not the market report.
Not the median price per square foot.
The real reasons.
The reasons that make you proud to say, “This is home.”
Some of you may have grown up in your community. Others may have arrived because of a job, family, lifestyle, or perhaps even a little bit of chance. But for whatever reason you landed there, what are the reasons that make you stay?
This challenge is about telling that story.
You can take this in any direction you like, but here are a few prompts that might spark an idea:
Were you born and raised in your community? What makes it special to you?
If you moved there, what brought you to that location in the first place?
What made you decide to stay?
What are the things locals love that outsiders may not know about?
What makes your town or city feel like home?
Why do other people relocate there?
What is something about your area that always makes you smile when you think about it?
And here's a little twist for those of you who may be considering relocating: where are you considering relocating to (and why), or what criteria are you looking for in a new place to call home?
Take it in any direction you want, but we do have a few rules:
One post is worth 1,500 points
300-word minimum
One feature photo, more if you so desire.
Post a link to your entry in the comment section of this post
Challenge starts April 1 and ends at midnight (Pacific time) on April 30
We all know real estate is about more than houses. It is about communities, memories, and belonging.
This challenge is an opportunity to share the heart of the place you represent every day.
We are looking forward to reading your stories and learning more about the place you call home.
