Wordless Wednesday…This Is Why

If you wonder about the benefits of observing nature, take a look.

The best times to see deer are early morning and dusk. This is one of the reasons why Larry and I get out early for our morning walks. We’ve seen this pair before in other areas at Kickerillo.

Deer have excellent hearing and can smell a human from over half a mile away.

And, for a bluebird update…

The chicks are just over a week old, and it looks like they’re waiting for mama bluebird to come by with fresh worms!!

In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.

The earth has music for those who listen.

Good morning, Kathy... those chicks are just too sweet.  I had no idea that deer have the good a sense of smell.

Nina Hollander, Broker When you see them, the best thing to do is stop and try not to move or make a sound.  Their vision isn't as sharp as ours but they have a better panoramic field of view.

Good morning Kathy. Deer are great to view if they are not eating your landscaping. Shakespeare had it right about the earth providing music to those who listen. Enjoy your day.

Wayne Martin I'm amazed at the number of people I see out walking who have their heads and their children's heads buried in their devices. They're missing so much.

Kathy, although we do enjoy nature, but at this point with all the deer eating our veggies, plants, flowers and using our yard as their personal bathrooms...we've seen enough of them!

Kathy Streib , A peaceful reminder of how much we can gain by simply paying attention to the natural world around us. Early morning walks often offer moments like this that set a calm tone for the entire day. Seeing wildlife in their own rhythm has a way of putting daily pressures into perspective.

The bluebird update adds such a nice sense of continuity and connection to place. Observing small changes week by week helps people feel grounded and more aware of seasonal cycles. These quiet experiences are often what make neighborhoods and communities feel truly special.

Thank you for sharing a glimpse of the beauty that can be found just by stepping outside and listening.

I walked outside early this morning to see what the temperature was doing as our nights are cold and days are warm right now. The colors were amazing, it was fun to just stand and watch, to hear the birds chirping and singing.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 The feeling is indescribable, isn't it?!  I enjoy seeing the buds on the trees now. One of the trees where we walk was just budding a week ago and now there are right pale green leaves on it.

What a sweet reminder to slow down and take in the small wonders around us, Kathy Streib. The mix of deer at dawn and those tiny bluebird chicks waiting for breakfast brought a smile to my face, and it’s a treat to see moments like this shared so openly. Thanks for giving the day a little lift with scenes that feel both simple and kind of magical.

Nature is so inspiring, Kathy, especially when experiencing it in real time. Those deer are on a foraging mission and the babies are adorable with their beaks wide open, anticipating a meal!

Kathy Streib I love the videos. I saw less deer this winter than usual. Patricia Feager also mentioned Blue Birds and I want to share my comment I left at her post:

My 99 year old uncle Herb is well know for his "Blue Bird" toasts. I believe he has been raising his glass in the name of the Blue Bird all of his life. The last one I heard was at my daughters wedding. I told Tina she must ask Herb for a Blue Bird toast and he did not let her down... it was a wonderful occassion.

Because Herb has been know for his toasts his beautiful 3 story home in NJ is FULL of Blue Birds. The tributes to Herb's toasts are overwhelming.
