The Life of a Realtor Association President

As some of you may know, I am the 2026 President of the Conejo Simi Moorpark Association of Realtors, whichi is approximately 2,000 members in size. 

If you've ever wondered what is involved in running a "mid-sized" Realtor Association, you're in luck!  I have decided to write a blog series, on my website, chronicalling the major events of my Presidency.

Thank you Nina.  My Association feels like a full time unpaid job some days, but primarily a very strong part-time one for sure.  I can only imagine what's involved with a 10k member Association!

In the past, I managed HOA's and got to see from the other side how it was to be a president or board member.  It taught me that I don't want to be on that side of the table, so I admire you for your duty as president.

Thanks Brian!  I know what you mean, I've been on the board of my local Country Club since I moved in 10 years ago and was on the board of a 501c3 charity before that.  I guess I'm a glutten for punishment.

I was president of a local non-Realtor board for 3 years, president of my HOA for 5 years (it would have been 6, but I said I would sell and move out if re-elected which I did) and chair of a 501(c)3. My hat is off to you for being so giving of your time and sacrificing your personal business. It takes a love of serving to do it and do it right as I know you will do. Enjoy your day.

Congratulations and being a former President of a smaller REALTOR Association, Kingman Golden Valley Association of REALTORS, I wish you incredible success.  Being President is often a true leadership challenge especially now with all the changes.
