Texas Bluebonnets Never Lie

Journal Entry for 3/27/2026

Today is the day I woke up early and got ready to check to see if the Bluebonnets bloomed at Green Acres Memorial Park in Flower Mound.

Yes! The Texas Bluebonnets bloomed and they are blooming all over Texas! These are the first 2026 Bluebonnets I saw with my own two blue eyes and my heart was skipping a beat!

Bluebonnets do not lie. When the Bluebonnets bloom, other spring flowers are sure to follow and they grow together with each other or other plants in between the green, green, grass I call home.

Other sightings I've seen are an array of birds, including the Blue Bird, Red Cardinals, Carolina Wren, one butterfly yesterday, the good old green gecko, and rabbits too!  Spring is my favorite time of the year. It's a signal of rebirth, new growth, great opportunities, beautiful colors that mingle with the earth, buds on tree branches, and the healthy ground beneath our feet.

Spring embodies the spirit of growth for people too. I love it when optimism begins to flourish! There are as many people putting their houses on the market for sale as there are different reasons why buyers are looking to buy. When it comes to optimism, there is no age limit. When I know for sure that spring is here, I can always look forward to something good. The greater good is in every situation, even if we don't know it. I really do believe something great is on the horizon of every new tomorrow. Have a good day!

Patricia we do not have any large fields of bluebonnets around here, BUT I bet they are a gorgeous sight.

This is beautifully written, Patricia. It’s amazing how something as simple as flowers blooming can shift perspective and bring so much hope.

Patricia- The bunnies out at Kickerillo know that Easter is next week...we've seen more than the usual number of them. I'm also excited because we've seen robins in our backyard!

Kathy Streib - We all need to see and appreciate wildlife and spend time observing how they behave in their natural surroundings. Wouldn't it be great if people learned how to be self-sufficient with a free spirit to appreciate our lives on earth.

Jeff Masich-Scottsdale AZ Associate Broker,MBA,GRI - Awe. Thank you! I love that they are tall enough and grow in uniform and close together, always the same colors, standing tall enough to see from the roadside or close up. I was right next to the Bluebonnets I took pictures of and suddenly, nothing was on my mind. Not a worry or a care in the world. I was immersed in beautiful Bluebonnets as far as the eyes could see.

Good Saturday morning, Patricia. Thank you very much for sharing your photographs.

Bluebonnet is a name given to any of a number of purple-flowered or blue-flowered species of the genus Lupinus and is collectively the state flower of Texas. The shape of the petals on the flower resembles the bonnet worn by pioneer women to shield them from the sun.

Roy Kelley - Although I already knew about the history of the Bluebonnet, I'm glad you put it out there for others who are not familiar have something more to read and understand.

I really enjoy taking photographs, especially fields of Bluebonnets!

How beautiful! I love the photos!

Yesterday we had a warm (for here) and sunny day - the birds were singing and some animals were out. Love this time of year!
