I was born right here in Philadelphia, and I’ll tell you straight—there is truly nowhere else on this green earth I’d ever want to live. People visit from every corner of the globe to see our history, but it’s the heartbeat of this city that keeps me right here. We aren't just a dot on the map; we are the City of Brotherly Love, and we live that every single day.
What makes me smile most? The people. You won’t find a friendlier, more down-to-earth bunch. Whether I’m settling into my new place by the river in Delaire Landing or just grabbing a coffee, there’s a grit and a warmth here that is purely "Philly." We’ve got the best of everything—from the iconic steps of the Art Museum to the sharpest legal minds in the country.
And don't even get me started on the food. We are the undisputed home of the authentic cheesesteak and the best soft pretzels you’ll ever taste. Our restaurant scene is world-class; from the finest dining to the best local corner spots, Philly’s flavors are second to none.

The world is finally catching on to what we’ve always known. This year, we are the epicenter of the 250th Birth of the Nation. But the excitement doesn't stop there—the world soccer games are coming right here to our backyard! Hosting the FIFA World Cup while celebrating America’s 250th birthday? It’s a reminder that the spirit of freedom started right here on our cobblestone streets. There is no bigger stage, and Philly is ready to shine.
A perfect example of that Philly spirit happened when I finally met my "adopted Sista" and ActiveRain friend, Carol Williams, who was traveling cross-country from Washington state, and we had to meet. And even though our time was short, we just had to see each other at the Three Monkeys Cafe. It felt like we’d known each other for a lifetime. We had spoken on the phone many times, but it was the Zoom sessions that truly made it so real.
That’s the magic of this city—it brings people together. Happy Birthday, Sista Carol! I’m so glad our paths crossed in the greatest city on earth. I know you're heading to the golf course today—may your drives be long, your putts be short, and your day be absolutely fantastic! Love you, Sista! Now, go have a fantastic day on the golf course!
