REO Seminars / Workshops???

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX SELECT

Hi I am just starting in the REO business. I have been in real estate for the past 13 years and have had over 200 million in career sales. I am trying to break into the REO business and I have just hired an REO specialist (assistant) who has been dealing with REOs for the past 3 years, from accepting assignments, BPOS, negotiating offers, closings, etc. She is very good, but we are trying to find some seminars that we can attend that can assist us in getting assigments and then perfecting what she already knows. If anybody knows of any please let me know.

Thanks!!

Shane,

I thought that I'd help point you in the right direction with your question in this blog - amazingly I saw no answers amidst 7 comments ?!

Anyways, a great event to attend is the Five Star in Dallas.  They are a part of DS News (www.DSNews.com) and offer some of the most current information and training.  Also, many of my asset manager colleagues say that the Five Star is their event of choice.

Other conferences that you can attend include the NRBA (www.NRBA.com), and REOMAC (www.REOMAC.com).

Occassionally other conferences crop up, but be wary of what you invest in within this industry.  Just like anything in real estate, there are those who take advantage of a situation by offering up partial information, outdated information, or misguided information for a fee.  REO is a hot market right now and is being assaulted by "experts" offering services to "get you in the door".

Ask anyone who's been in the business (for more than 3 years) and they'll tell you that this industry is about hard work, dedication, quality performace, and relationships.

Best of luck to you and your team.
