Who doesn't love that Garth Brooks song BUT who really wants to live that song? Not me.
Starting the day with a deep breath (and a prayer of gratitude) is a great way to start a day BUT a plan or even a routine for the next 16 hours is also a good idea.
Being retired from Real estate about ten years now I hate to admit that I don't even remember my morning routine from when I was an active Broker/Owner.
Let me tell you my routine of being "retired" at the age of 72. My son Timmothy and I head to the office (after breakfast and Bible study) at 7:15 AM. Once there and settled in I post to Active Rain and or complete a remote Notary closing. More of the same every afternoon. Being retired I can do things at my own pace.
What I can NOT do is nothing. Retirement today is not like it was generations ago.

Retirement allows me to take care of family chores and errands. It allows me to do anything and everything at my own pace. That being said there still are not enough hours in the day to get done all I want or plan to do.
Here is the kicker that few understand, I didn't save a penny for retirement. When I bought my 1st home at 18, living on minimum wage I learned to live within my means.
I've purchased 2 homes since with cash, I own 4 vehicles, two campers, and several trailers. What I don't have I don't need. Oh, I almost forgot, that Real Estate Brokerage I owned and operated... I never borrowed a penny at any time to purchase or operate it.
Ambition & determination has always paid my bills.
That is HIGH expectations as opposed to LOW ambitions.
