Tonight my favorite hockey team was eliminated from playoff contention. They lost control of their own fate and had to rely on the team above them losing, and the other team didn't lose. Close the book on this year's edition and hope for better next year.
The fans can point to many things with our amateur's understanding of the sport, but one thing you don't have to be a professional to understand is that the margin between winning and losing is often razor thin. How many pucks hit the iron with that loud KLANG sound throughout the season, some go in, some don't, and just a single goal more going in at the right time could have been the difference between gaining a couple of points in the standings and taking home a ZERO for the night.
And there are other games where a team for whatever reason just doesn't bring it's "A" game. Things are just a little out of sync, the shots are wide, the defenders just a little out of position, the goalie just not quite quick enough, and a game that looks like an easy win becomes a blow out in the wrong direction.
We've all seen instances where it's obvious someone doesn't have their "A" game working that day.
And the reality is in the real estate business every person including us and everyone we recommend has to bring their "A" game to work every day.
A miss by the loan officer might cost buyers their earnest money.
The home inspector not realizing the dryer doesn't actually vent OUTSIDE the house? (you can't make this stuff up).
