Thankful Thursdays…For All of the Different (Though Sometimes Absurd) Voices
Except for ActiveRain, I spend very little time on social media platforms. I check NextDoor, Facebook, and X for a total of about 7 minutes a day. Instagram has become a favorite of mine because of some of the fun videos.
As is the case here on ActiveRain, I also read some of the comments to see (1) if the whole post/video was AI-generated and (2) what others are saying.

What brought on this ode to the many voices?
Lately, the news has carried reports of people in other countries being killed or imprisoned for speaking out against their current government. In our own country, some people are dismissed or (I hate this word) cancelled if their way of thinking does not align with theirs.
While the many yelling, screaming, sometimes idiotic voices can be nerve-wracking, I’m thankful for them.
-I'm grateful to live in a country where free speech is protected by the First Amendment.
-I welcome differing opinions because that’s how we learn and grow.
-Listening to the opinions of others gives me insight into who they are

Being willing to listen to what others think doesn’t mean I’m changing my own opinion. In fact, in many cases, it serves to reinforce my own opinion (and of them!)
So I thank the many voices out there, offering their thoughts that differ from mine. If you choose to ignore what I have to say…that’s ok. I’ll continue to grow and learn.
Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice.
